Learn the tools in a morning workshop, then turn an idea into a 1–2 minute film. Bring your laptop and perspective. We provide credits, food, and space to create.

01 The brief

Malaysia, Stories That Unite

Create a 1–2 min AI video (horizontal 16:9) that celebrates Malaysia through stories of unity, history, patriotism, or the people and moments that shape our shared identity.

    Form a team

    Teams can have two to four people. Come with a team, or join one during team formation.

  2. 02

    Create your film with Topview

    All production must take place during the event, after the workshop ends at 10:30am.

  3. 03

    Submit one final cut

    Your completed film should be between one and two minutes long, in horizontal 16:9, and submitted by 3:00pm.

    Keep it recognisably Malaysian

    Aim for representation that is respectful, inclusive, and grounded in our shared identity.

02 Morning workshop

Learn the tools, then bring your idea to life

No prior experience with Topview or Seedance is needed. The workshop is designed to help first-time users get from a blank project to a finished video.

9:30am – 10:30am 60 min
  1. Build a video from concept to final cut in Topview
  2. Generate, edit, and assemble scenes efficiently
  3. Use your credits thoughtfully while iterating quickly
  4. Prompt Seedance 2.5 for movement and visuals that read well on screen
  5. Maintain consistent characters and visual direction across scenes
  6. Recognise common generation issues and work around them creatively

RM3,500 in prizes

Prizes are awarded to teams and may be divided among team members however the team agrees.

First place RM2,000

Awarded to the highest-scoring final submission.

05 How your film will be judged

50 points across five criteria

Each category is worth 10 points. Judging is based on the submitted final cut.

What exactly am I making?

An original, AI-generated film inspired by the theme: Malaysia, Stories That Unite. One to two minutes, horizontal 16:9.

Can I come without a team?

Yes. Team formation takes place during check-in from 8:45am.

Do I need prior experience with these tools?

No. The morning workshop is designed for beginners as well as experienced creators.

Do I have to use Topview?

Yes. Topview is the official creation platform for the hackathon.

Can I bring work made before the event?

No. All work submitted for the competition must be created during the event, beginning after 10:30am.

Who owns the work we create?

You do. Participants keep full ownership of the films they create, and all usage rights stay with the team.

Can I still register?
